My project for course: Illustrated Diary: Fill Your Sketchbook with Experiences

I have wanted to get in the habit of sketching for a while and this course was exactly what I needed to jumpstart my creativity. I loved the suggestion of working on a spread over a few days by drawing a collection of items versus trying to finish a spread in one day.

Although I love drawing from life, I also enjoyed the invitation to take photos and draw from those when not able to draw from life. Likewise I enjoyed the idea that as artist it is about capturing the essence of a scene versus copying it. The noticing and studying objects for sketching has become a meditation for me.

After completing this project I started a 100 day project to draw my dogs daily. This daily habit has really advanced my creativity.
