After a day of material gathering in Shangai I met Lobo, he was refurbishing his place and much material was going to be trashed. It took me a full day to dive into it and classify it... only rope and tape were used to assemble it, structure was given by the shapes and qualities of the pieces. No cuts, no glue or no screws, pieces are taken as found and they suffered no other interventions than knotting or taping.
This project follows the modus operandi of other pieces I did in several other places in the world. Ban Fai Temple stool, Eulji-ro collection, Un-settlement or Mobiliario Urbano are all one off pieces made in specific contexts with the materials and know how found there. They all belonged to that placed and stayed there for whoever wanted to pick them up and use the. They were all taken. Context specific one-off pieces that reained in the context and out of the market.
