This is an on-going series honoring friends, relatives, and folks whom I deeply appreciate who are Black and Indigenous to North American Tribal Nations. The experience of being both black and native within the United States and Canada is constantly being erased and/or co-opted to uphold false narratives. Often people who are both Black and Native face difficulties in both black communities and native communities. I honor these folks are are constantly educating and fighting for the accurate representation of Black Native folks as well as the rights of Freedmen of the Five Southeastern Tribes (Choctaw, Cherokee, Chickasaw, Muskogee/Creek, and Seminole).
This series is created using Procreate. Brushes I often use include: 6b, Mercury, Round Brush, Wild Light, and various textural brushes from both Visual Timmy and True Grit Texture Supply Co.
