Marta Zafra actualmente trabaja en Barcelona como ilustradora freelance y artista. Su trabajo abarca delicadamente un variado abanico de temas y contenidos. La técnica elegida para sus ilustraciones nos muestra una sólida base de dibujo combinada perspicazmente con una sutil intuición para el color, y en la cual mezcla técnicas manuales y digitales. Su interés por la figuración radica en la detallada descripción de lo cotidiano a través de sus personales ideas sobre la familia y lo familiar. Tanto en sus ilustraciones botánicas como en sus retratos de animales y personas, las decisiones que toma para cada composición son extrañamente únicas y precisas. Lo familiar a menudo se transforma en algo bizarro, el pasado es revisitado a menudo y lo real se hace irreal.
Marta nació en octubre de 1977 en Jaén, España. Estudió Bellas Artes en Granada, Andalucía y estudió un posgrado de ilustración en EINA, Barcelona. Ha trabajado fundamentalmente con diseñadores y agencias de publicidad y sus ilustraciones se han publicado en prensa y revistas tanto a nivel nacional como internacional. Su trabajo ha sido premiado muchas veces y se ha ganado el reconocimiento.

Marta Zafra currently works in Barcelona as a freelance illustrator and artist. Her work delicately covers a panorama of varied subject and content. The chosen treatment for her illustrations exhibits a careful solid base in draughtsmanship combined acutely with a subtle intuition for colour, mixed both by hand and digitally. Her interest in figuration lies in the detailed depiction of the quotidian through personalised notions of family and the familiar. Whether it be botanical illustrations or the portrayal of animals and people, her decisions for each composition are strangely unique and precise. The familiar is often transformed into the bizarre, the past is often revisited and the real is made unreal.
Marta was born in October 1977 in Jaén, Spain. She studied Fine Art in Granada, Andalusia and studied an MA in illustration. She has worked extensively throughout the years with design studios and published both nationally and internationally. Her work has won recognition and been awarded many times.
