Phoenix Helmet - 3D Print Designs - Desain

Testing the final design on a full body in CG which would later help with wardrobe.

The 3D scan of the airsoft helmet and the first test piece ready for print to see if it fit the helmet profile.

Here's the final proof of concept that was signed off.

Paintover of the final Sketch model, with materials, colour breakups and decals to help the paint shop.

This was for another Short Movie where I created 3 designs, (as very rough sketch models) as conversation pieces for the client with the general theme of "Renegade."
The brief included that it should work with a shop-bought military airsoft helmet, so that a large number of them could be produced.

The aim was to disguise and transform the airsoft helmet as much as possible, for a Sci-Fi look that supported the storyline . I experimented with comm's units in the mouth-piece and elsewhere, to really see how we could push the boundaries of the stock unit.

Version 1 became the key direction with some alterations and this later went to be tooled for final print.

Once made it was then printed on a large format 3D printer and sent off for fabrication.
