VISUAL ART
I am a Brazilian visual artist, with na academic background of a BA degree in Visual Communication from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and a BA degree in Visual Arts from the Federal University of Paraná. I lived my childhood and youth, observing landscapes and abstractions that reaffirmed my experiences and culture in the course of my artistic career, which are predominant in my work until the present. Upon landing in Scotland (United Kingdom) in 1990, I exposed my Brazilian heritage and culture, which are a hallmark of my work, in exhibitions and art projects that I created and coordinated for the British public. One of these exhibitions was entitled “Visions and Dreams” at the Queen's Hall exhibition space, (in 1993), and I also planed and coordinated a design project of a centenary commemorative panel (7.5 x 1.5 m) in mosaic, for the "Holly Cross Primary School", with collective assistance from parents and children (in 2007). Back in Brazil, I started giving art classes in schools and workshops. The particular interest of my work lies in the representation of colors, which firmly express the elements of the contour line and which, through delimited forms, question the viewer whether what is seen is a drawing or a painting. The colors fill the spaces in ways delimited by contrasts and lines that merge with the background, providing an extension of my work proposals.
