Lettering interprets letters as graphic forms that convey feelings. It goes beyond an alphabet that composes words, but they are pieces of design, composed of letters drawn specifically for a specific use. 

 Chisko Romo has been living from the lettering since 2012 and, in this course, will teach you in a practical way, to create compositions with different styles of letters that you can use as publications on social networks.

You will need pencil, paper, props for the photographic shot, a cell phone or mobile with Instagram and a computer with Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop, as well as basic knowledge of both programs.

### Introduction

Hello! Thanks for being here! 

 In this unit I will tell you a little about my experience as a lyricist and share with you personal experiences that helped me make the decision to be _freelance_ and live to design lyrics, I will also show you some of my influences and I will tell you how I got to Instagram and how it became my main source of work.

### Get ready

It is very important to differentiate between calligraphy, _lettering_ and typography, because they all have a different degree of difficulty and charge completely different. Calligraphy is the mother of letters and here we will see how you can use it to make an incredible _lettering_ .

### Lettering for real life

In this unit we are going to plan our _lettering_ to have the idea very clear before sketching; For this, we will analyze the importance of designing a grid correctly and how this influences the final result. The ideal is to make the most of the time and not waste time sketching by sketching.

### Production, editing and final assembly

In this unit you will put together a couple of simple sets to take pictures with your own cell phone; one will serve to work with the stencil and the second is a composition on which we will place a _lettering_ digitally.
