This is my design project for Chloe. (steps also in captions)
I didn't use Photoshop because I used my Samsung tablet for this project and Toon Boom for the animated parts (at the end you will see them!)
To create her I followed the steps explained by Caio Martinez and I started completely from scratch.
I made of lot of sketches on paper and I didn't like any of them at first.
I continued sketching and ideas came in my mind, the designs were better and I started to really imagine "my" Chloe!
I liked few sketches completely different from each other, in some of them Chloe was short and square, in others she was tall and slim.
The silhouette test helped me to discard the weak designs and to leave only the one I was most certain for.
I continued improving the selected design, I replaced the loosed hair with a big chubby braid that remembers me a soft candy and that's most recognisable in silhouette.
When I finally found the right way I started thinking about the colour palette that could fit her.
This process took a lot but finally I liked two different palette and I ended up choosing the most "candy" one.
After choosing the colour I started with the turnaround. I first sketched the position and then I did the clean version over the sketches.
I had a lot of fun with the creation of Chloe, I imagined her world and her behaviour so I had fun illustrating her in different situations.
Hope you like her :)

Insegnante PlusChe design super carino!
