My Thought (Art) Process
I live in a tropical country, every piece of land is teeming with life. Yet ironically, I am not one to observe nature around me, perhaps I'm just used to it. An unexpected side effect of it is I'm more familiar with painting references from places far away from the equatorial line. Additionally, where I live, accessing nature requires quite a bit of work and effort. For this project I wanted to paint a tropical scene because somehow it feels like lying to myself if I use reference pictures like ones I'm always seeing on the internet.

Composing the Painting
My biggest weakness painting landscape is to visualize the big picture and not getting bogged down by details. I admit I haven't watched the recommended video about this problem (I promise I'm going to!) but trying out different compositions on scrap papers helped me a lot.

The Part Where I Block Colors
This is actually from my first try. Not too happy about this one.

Final Result
Not that happy about this one either but I'm feeling honest about myself, about what I saw, and what I'm trying to convey.
