Mermaid

For my final project, I designed a First Birthday Party with a Mermaid Underwater Theme for a client. I focused on a dreamy color palette of pinks, purples, and blues to bring the oceanic vibe to life.

For this project, I used balloons in various sizes (5-inch to 18-inch), a foil mermaid tail, foam cutouts, and a circle wire backdrop to bring the theme to life. I designed the mockup in Canva to plan the colors and layout. My main technique was the neck-to-neck method to create a seamless, organic balloon garland. I also focused on layering and strategic placement to achieve a balanced and dynamic look. These elements helped me capture the dreamy, underwater feel of the mermaid theme!

My process involved a lot of trial and adjustment to get the perfect garland shape—I changed it multiple times until I was happy with the flow. The foil mermaid tail popped twice, so I had to switch to a different color, which ended up working well with the overall design.
