After so long, I've finally managed to finish this!
First of all, I want to thank @evenmehlamundsen for this course, it really helped me a lot!
Regarding the final project, here's what I've done.
Firstly, as Even explained, I took notes about my worldbuilding and how I could incorporate it into my drawing. Since Kira is a character from a novel I'm writing, I had many things already prepared, I only needed to organize them.
I prepared two sketches and I decided to work on the first one since it had more potential to show off my character and also because I wanted to challenge myself with shadows and textures.
Since Kira was trained since she was very little to be a warrior more than a queen, I wanted my idea to work around that.
I wanted to mix traditional Japanese and Korean clothes for her look.
Regarding her sword, Akai, I did a quick study in order to understand how the tsuka and the handguard work. For this, I used the official artworks from Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. I especially liked the form of the guard of Sekiro's sword, Kusabimaru, and I did the same one for Kira but in a simplified version. What I actually wanted to stand out was the blade itself, for which I took inspiration from another sword in Sekiro: the Mortal Blade. I liked the idea of a sword stained in blood, so I tried to gain a texture that could suggest it.
Overall, Kira's formal attire is actually very simple and doesn't have many decorations. That's because my character is a warrior before anything else and I wanted to convey that idea: not many details, simple lighting. Simplicity here was the keyword I had in mind!
