Hello,
at the initiative of Gabriel Suchowolski Creative Director. DOMESTIKA
Gabriel Suchowolski @microbians , I have added some screenshots of the project creation process to enrich it a little more.
In the first Photoshop sketch, the idea was for a woman turning around and looking angrily at us. I ended up discarding it because of the complexity of rotoscoping. In the background, some tulips were supposed to be growing. I found a video of a river that helped me give the composition more dynamism, and I eliminated the photo of the lake.
The rotoscoped screenshot taken in AE shows the man's face, which ultimately replaced the woman's. I thought it gave him a more mysterious air.
Using masking or expanding has worked very well for me to hide small errors in the rotoscoping paths I created for this project. A very interesting trick explained by the course instructor, Joseba Elorza.
Of the second sketch, I'm leaving a Photoshop animated gif, which shows a few of the steps I followed. I found an old photo that evoked concern or intrigue, cloned it and removed what didn't interest me, lightened the ground and left it snowy, added those men who seemed to be judging or observing, the building, and the jumping man. Then the real work was done in AE.
In the third animation, I found it funny that the lady's hat flew off after the impulse produced by the explosion, so I cut off her hat and "painted" her hair with a PSD brush.
I searched image banks for those photos of the plane, the house, and other abandoned elements that give a feeling of emptiness and loneliness.
For the fourth animation in the project, I found a science fiction film in the Perlinger archives where a zombie emerges from the ground. But as I progressed and tested, I preferred the couple shooting at the planes, which also matched the look of rejection or disgust on the man in the background.
I added a crashed car, the sky in the background, and three other characters using rotoscoping to give the composition more strength.
I hope it has been helpful.
Thank you!
