Must say I’m still getting to grips with wet on wet and couldn’t resist adding a little sparrow

Oops, managed to smudge some colour so happy to do a dark background

Thank you Julia, I really enjoyed this course. I was originally going to attempt a tomato but found this lovely pear photograph by Tatiana Zlatkovic and thought I might give it a bash. I’m still trying to get to grips with wet on wet and made quite a few attempts at other fruits that never quite made it. As usual I always feel as if a little beast, fowl or creature needs to be be added but I did try focus on the fruit as the main event.

Decided the sparrow looked a bit strange floating around so……..

Thanks for posting your work and for your explanation of where the idea for the image has come from. I'm really glad you enjoyed the course and can see that you have a good command of watercolour. I hope you feel you made progress with the wet-in-wet technique. You obviously enjoy depicting wild life, so hopefully you can use the ideas and skills learnt here whatever you choose to paint in the future!
