Paraffin is the name of this collection of multipurpose containers designed by Adolfo Navarro in collaboration with master craftsman Oscar Pedroza.
Like any work, the project has an intention: to create objects that are always in progress, always changing, adapting them to different uses and contexts.
The containers are designed in a single circular piece, based on an old design used to transport medicines and raw materials in bulk, and one of the first pieces that Oscar, the master craftsman who made them, made years ago for the purpose of transporting and storing small quantities of paraffin. Basic shapes work well for storing basic objects.
This revision gives way to a utilitarian reinterpretation of the object itself, resulting in a set of three containers of different diameters that can be used as baskets, bags, or organizers, thus expanding the functionality of each one. The pieces in the collection feature a masterfully hand-embroidered Pita symbol, a significant detail that alludes to the combination of proportions, contexts, and uses.
An object that is always in the process of change, reinterpreting itself, like the material itself.
