Pendant Light Fixtures

This project was somewhat new to me. I was asked by my architect brother to create custom hanging pendant lights for the home he was designing for his family. It was a challenge to balance both the function of the light fixture and the aesthetic of his beautiful home. I used light-colored stoneware clay to reflect the light well and made organic but simple shapes. The larger pendants were 16 inches by 16 inches and weigh nearly 15 pounds, the smaller ones were about 7 inches tall and 5 inches wide. I decided on a matte green glaze for the pendants' exterior that would complement their cabinets' colors. The project was a success and my brother's family was very happy with how they turned out.
