The work I produce explores form, texture and colour through different materials. Having a background in visual and performing arts influences my approach to apply techniques from various disciplines to find new directions for shapes to emerge from.
Working in both 2D and 3D, I often use paintings and collages as experimental foundations that can be developed into sculptural pieces. Creating abstract sculptural forms became a therapeutic practice for me, whereby I eventually had the epiphany that my inclination to make 3D pieces was the result of trying to tangibilize and understand thoughts and feelings.
The intention behind my work is based in creating emotive forms that resonate with others as a way to offer comfort, joy or a new perspective on a relatable experience.
