Bienvenido / Welcome is a family of furniture and accessories developed for Los Patrones, all with the common denominator of being highly functional, both practical and symbolic, flexible, able to adapt to the environment and add value through its use, focused on providing solutions around three main functions: freedom, privacy and order.

The background (why and how).
We believe that the spaces with which we interact every day are becoming more complex and saturated, not only by the activities and dynamics that happen in them, but also by the number of users with a huge diversity of needs and aspirations. It is increasingly common to find mixed social groups, where different generations, professions or even cultures coexist, carrying out activities of all kinds, in very limited current conditions.

We are aware that this reality of co-habiting and co-working will increase from now on, and with it there are challenges around fostering harmony, respecting privacy, empathizing with multiple users, promoting integration and stimulating the generation of comfort and well-being.

In an individual aspect arise needs such as privacy, personal time and stress reduction, which must be balanced with intergenerational dialogues, multiple users, collaborative activities and social interaction in general, all collective needs.

We believe that it is necessary to have options that allow us to configure our immediate environments according to our needs. Feel ours, own them, and with the passage of time grow with them and accompany us in our changes, our development.

This idea of projecting ourselves in everything that surrounds us, and perceiving our artificial environment as flexible, adaptable and at our service, is the foundation of this project; we have set ourselves the challenge of developing a family of furniture and accessories capable of being, on the one hand, congruent with the reality we live in today, contemporary, and therefore neutral, dynamic, in constant movement, multifaceted, and on the other hand, accessible products, with a production and selection of honest materials, basic, but always with their own identity.

The project.
We proudly present Bienvenido / Welcome, a family of furniture and accessories manufactured by Los Patrones, today composed of 6 basic pieces, all with the common denominator of being highly functional, both practical and symbolic, flexible, able to adapt to the environment and its time enrich it through its use. Our family will gradually grow, adding members, enriching as a system and enriching our day to day.

Bienvenido / Welcome is focused on providing solutions around three main functions: freedom, privacy and order. It encourages the carrying out of activities in different environments, alone or accompanied, with the necessary resources to maintain order without feeling bound, with the possibility of opening the door to nature and letting it in, enriching the space that is inhabited. We push to constant change without worries, openness to evolution, to play, to flexibility.

The first generation of Bienvenido / Welcome is composed by the Matamoros armchair, a compact armchair that has a small surface to place a cup of coffee, a cell phone or a book. Accompanying it we find the Acuña side table that inherits from our beloved table Toldo a construction based on surfaces in different heights, allowing different storage spaces, exhibition or use. Then comes Sasabe, an ideal room divider with a perfect bottom shelf to house plants, books or electronic devices. Its metal surface allows you to place notes or photographs using magnets. Later on, Juarez emerges, an ideal auxiliary piece of furniture to become a hall, a dresser, a night table or a flexible storage space. Finally, a pair of compact shelves, called Ojinaga and Reynosa, which have the characteristic of having an exhibition space and a storage space, with small dimensions, ideal for very limited spaces that need efficient solutions.

The design of each of the pieces that make up Bienvenido / Welcome comes from an observation exercise about the habits of these new social phenomena. Not only around the objects themselves, but also in their interaction with other people, with space, as they communicate with each other, their personal moments and the social ones.

We look for a simple proposal, where the materials and manufacturing processes are sincere and direct; for this reason, we decided to use American oak, worked in a small carpentry workshop in the south of Mexico City, natural wool made in Puebla, and high-quality blacksmith work developed by Los Patrones, in Monterrey in the north of the country. The construction of each of the components of Bienvenido / Welcome is characterized by maximizing the dispatch, storage, assembly and disassembly, reducing costs and improving the user experience, without sacrificing simplicity.

The strokes are basics, avoiding an over-designed expression, simple geometric shapes that allow the function to be a protagonist but generating a well-defined identity. Elements with soft-touch corners, details in the most delicate areas in contact with people, and proportions that facilitate their integration into the environment.

We believe that Bienvenido / Welcome can be an option for people who need to design a space today, be it a home, an office or a rest space.
