Is the Illuminated Manuscrit I created at ISEEM, the final piece of my academic formation to become an Enlumineur de France.
I studied in detail the legend of the Dragon that besieged the city of Jaén (Yayyan) it is a local adaptation of the myth of the hero slaying the dragon.
Yayyan & the Constellation of Draco
The story tells us about the correlation between Draco, the constellation, and the medieval temples in the city of Jaén.
The mythology of Draco is associated to the Garden of the Hesperides, according to Greek mythology, the garden of the Hesperides was a magical place owned by the Goddess Hera, where trees grew golden apples that gave immortality to those who ate them.
The manuscript concludes with the local legend of ‘Las Tres Morillas’, a poem from Al-Andalus, which curiously is very similar to the classical myth.
