PROYECTO PERSONAL: Ensamblaje, configuración y mapeo MIDI de una superfície táctil

La finalidad de este proyecto ha sido crear una superficie de control táctil, con la intención de poder controlar softwares musicales a través de señales midi. He adaptado los brazos de una estructura metálica para poder mantener un cristal de forma inclinada.

A grandes rasgos, lo que tenemos es una estructura metálica, donde se aguantan 2 cristales con una lamina de papel vegetal en medio que es donde se concentra la imagen proporcionada por un proyector de corto alcance. Para que el cristal sea táctil, le he incorporado encima un marco rectangular formado por unos chips internos que contienen infrarojos, de esta manera puede captar todos los impulsos que detecta cuando nosotros tocamos el cristal y toda esta información se envía a nuestro ordenador a través de un cable usb.

Este proceso nos sirve para tener táctil cualquier función de nuestro ordenador. Una vez conseguimos esto, he empleado un software llamado 'Emulator' que permite crear plantillas gráficas (ya sean botones, faders, potenciómetros etc...) y permite mapearlas asignando de esta manera los controles que nosotros hayamos podido crear con funciones específicas de otros softwares que usen el protocolo midi.

The purpose of this project was to create a tactile control surface, with the intention to control music software via MIDI signals. I have adapted the arms of a metal structure to maintain a crystal surface.

It is a metallic structure, where two crystals are put up with a sheet of greaseproof paper between, where the image is provided by a short-range projector. For the touch capacityes, I built it over a rectangular frame formed by some internal chips containing infrared, so it captures all the pulses that detects when we touch the glass and all this information is sent to a computer through a usb cable.

This process helps us to have touch any function of the computer. With the touch surface operative I have used a software called 'Emulator' for making graphical templates (buttons, faders, knobs etc ...) and allows mapping them assigning this way the controls that we have been able to create specific functions of other software using the midi protocol.
