The beauty of Women

Hey guyss <333 My name is Maya and I’m a young self-taught artist from Germany. I started to post my art on Instagram under the name mayas.art.studio in 2020 and started a YouTube channel in February also called mayas.art.studio. I’m always open to try new things and get out of my comfort zone and that’s why my style has changed a lot in the last five years. Here you can see some of my current favorites.

I used a pencil, white gel pens for the highlights, pastel copic markers, POSCA pens and some glitter markers.

I wanted to make a statement with my drawing. I decided to draw twelve female heads to show the beauty of all the women in the world. (I know that I can’t show all the amazing women out there only with such a small amount of representatives.)
I searched for women references on Pinterest, created a pinboard and picked out twelve faces.

I began to do a small sketch to decide where I wanted the faces to be. Then I started to draw.

In step 3 I drew twelve female heads. Here you can see a bit of the progress. The last picture shows all of the finished heads.

In the last step I added some details. I added highlights with a white gel pen for some color - which I tried to add individually for every woman - and the quote to underline my statement.
