Marvin Feldmann is a record supervisor for the „Book of Records“. To him, it’s all about numbers, about counting and measuring the world. When he is sent to the remote Föglö, an island of the Aland Archipelago in Finland, Marvin is suddenly faced with some of his greatest fears. First of all, the supposed record breaker is a child, Elias. Second of all, Marvin hates water. And third, Elias’ aunt Fanny catches Marvin’s eye and suddenly, emotions begin to infringe on his rational life. When his cell phone goes missing and the ferry off the island is out of service due to repairs, Marvin is forced to stay on Föglö and confront all that he has buried in his work and learn that life cannot always be compartmentalized and put into neat categories. And then, of course, there is also Elias and his attempt at breaking a record – his biggest wish in light of an ever-looming danger that will change Marvin’s, Fanny’s and Elias’ life forever…
