My brother's childhood story and I is full of crazy and funny memories.
But, the best and most unforgettable experience we had ever as two siblings who grew together is our two different hunting strategies, be it hunting birds, rabbits or antelopes.
We never agreed with each other!!
And, I am sorry to my brother perhaps I was the most stubborn guy. You agree that, the little ones are always the troublemaker for their elder brothers or sisters.
I was a hardworking and curious boy. My brother was a lazy and smart boy.
Our two different personalities put us into unending competition like two competing corporate giants in the business world.
As the hardworking boy, I focused more on crafting my hunting skillset by using the Catapult and arrow and bow.
I found much pleasure in the hunting game when I run after and following birds flying from tree to tree. I liked sniping birds, "Mlenga Shabaha".
As a lazy and Smart boy my brother's approach was totally different. He was the, "The Traps Setter" and "Owned Dogs".
He couldn't bother himself sweating a lot to catch birds or rabbits, he focused only on creating the most efficient traps to simplify the jobs.
I remember he also had his dog called, "Simba" and he trained Simba how to catch the big birds, "Kwaree" and rabbits.
As a trap setter somedays, he set traps in the evening for catching antelopes overnight and woke up early in the morning to get there before anyone else. The chances of winning were high. In the language of today you could say, "My brother was earning while sleeping".
Of course, at the end of the day we all ended up with, "Kitoweo Mkononi" but I was getting too tired.
Surprisingly, the lazy boy was catching more birds than me. With his trap he could catch 2 to 3 birds at once while on my side I can catapult or throw an arrow up to 10 times without hitting even a single bird.
His dog could chase big birds and rabbits miles and miles and catch them within few hours, something that could be one day if I did it alone with my arrows and bow.
Even when it gets too sunny that wasn't a challenge to my brother, he set the trap and waited under the shadow of trees while, "The Hardworker Me", had to sweat the whole day.
I was so jealous of him for his success but my childhood EGO of why not me couldn't let me learn the new skills of the game.
I hated his dog Simba and sometimes destroyed his traps intentionally especially when I returned home with no birds at hand.
But, my brother was so humble and empathetical to me. He forgived me and treated his younger brother so politely despite the fact that I made troubles to him.
He found a small dog for me and trained me to set traps. Then, we started working as a team, "Partnership" by employing all the techniques.
We used catapults, arrows, traps and dogs. Our togetherness and multiple strategies resulted more success.
