I launched straight into the facial details here to bring him to life quicker Then I added washes in both warm and cool shadesI was nearing the end but wanted to knock back the harshness of some of those details which I did by lifting paintI used a lot of blue in this piece to help describe the shadow areas and the heat of the day
Wow Sarah another great dog painting! I am painting a white boxer pittie mix right now and the nose is giving me a hard time because it is not clear in the photo. It's a surprise so I can't ask the person for more photos. Sigh, I am looking at loads of white boxers! I think white, almost white and black dogs are the hardest to paint. You do an amazing portrait with so much personality and I have learned so much just from looking at your art and taking your courses. Dee

If you do, I'll be grabbing those. Do you offer intermediate courses with less fundamentals of watercolor? I skip over that part as I have been painting a long time. Have painted animals and I like your methods.
