Whoa! This is such a bright and fun piece. I can see you've used some techniques from the course and integrated them with some of your own styles, with these patterns and hyper-graphic elements, which is super cool! It looks like it may have some graffiti-influence. You've created something very unique here, which I love to see.
A couple of quick notes for next time... Be sure to give yourself enough breathing room around your subject that your marks don't directly hit any edges of your canvas-- the halo mark above the head comes to a point right at the center of the frame, which creates a bit of a visual tangent, and the vertical decorative outline mark on the far left traces the edge very closely. This can make you overly aware of the edges of your canvas and can take away from the impact of the piece.
I see you've mostly opted out of using white in this piece, which is AOK-- but if you wanted to really accentuate the subject's face, some heavier black and some white around the eye or running up the shine of the beak would really make it pop. The dark shape under the chin is currently the highest contrast part of the piece and the biggest pop, with the bright blue edging it up-- so applying that contrast to other areas might emphasize the hierarchy you want!
Overall, a super cool and very unique piece. Love it!
If you learned something from the course, please consider leaving a positive review of your experience! And feel free to continue sharing projects here if you keep working with this technique- I’m happy to offer feedback or critique any time. Thanks for sharing your project!
