This is an NFT playing card project that I did for Lucky Roo. I started out by collecting reference images and creating multiple mock ups. Then I created mock ups in Photoshop where I sketched the kangaroo with a loose, gestural approach. Once that was approved I transferred the image to Adobe Fresco and drew the final vector version. Here's my first attempt at the Queen. They ultimately decided to have a different pose. They preferred this version because of the pose and facial features. I made sure to keep the style as similar as possible to the King card. As the project progressed I became more confident in my sketches. Before I add color, I make sure that the image works well as a black and white illustration. I kept the dominant colors (Purple, Red, Orange, Gold) in all of the cards. Here's the first version of the Joker. They decided that they wanted a different pose. Here's the 2nd attempt at a sketch. They liked this pose a lot better.
