As an extension to other watercolour courses, I enjoyed Agnes' "colourful approach", givening a chance to explore the colourful scarlet willows and bluebells in my photograph, taken at The Oxford University Parks in March 2019. Taking inspiration from David Hockney's landscapes I wanted the three colourful willows to stand out (ignoring others in the photo). For the final version I used Faber-Castell water colour pencils, Goldfaber Aqua (dual markers), and Stabilo Fineliners as well as a neon text marker. I used a brush to delute the Stabilo lines to mix the colours at the trunk, the green areas, and the yellow neon for the sand path. On 300g 24x34 cm artselect.de paper. (Earlier stages are posted on the forum). I did a second, more abstract version, focusing on the three willows (see below).
