Ugly Lies the Bone

National Theatre – 2016

This play tells the story of a US veteran coming back from Afghanistan with severe burns on half of her body. Struggling to readjust to life in her hometown on the Space Coast of Florida, she starts a VR therapy. The last shuttle is just about to launch.

The campaign image uses projection to combine the horror of Jess’s burnt skin with the wonders of the space launch and of the virtual snow world.
