Grey Glen Plaid Tailored Trousers

For my final project, I chose to design and pattern cut a pair of classic trousers. I'm very influenced by men's tailoring having interned as a student on Saville Row. The design was inspired by men's flat-front trousers.

The trousers are a slim fit and feature two front side pockets, a straight leg and an extended waistband with a button.

The classic trousers style shown here is an adaptation made using the trouser block that I also show you how to make. In my course, you will find all of the details on how to make a great fitting block and how to adapt it into classic trousers.

I decided to do classic trousers because there isn't too much technical detail for a complete beginner to get overwhelmed. However, there is still enough to challenge you.
