This is my final project for Sarah Stoke‘s Watercolor Animal Portrait Course, which I enjoyed big time. I think I chose a pretty difficult subject with the blurry background but I really liked the blue and orange tones. I chose to enhance them in my painting. I am not too sure about the body but I didn’t dare to go darker as I did not want to create a solid blob of dark and take away the attention from the face.

Wow this is absolutely stunning work. I love your choice of reference and colour palette. You’ve achieved a wonderful range of textures and tones from the tufts on his head to the shine on his body. I’m so glad that you enjoyed the course. You should be very proud of this piece.
Your work on every details was magnificent, clear. the choice of color mixes, fades and focusing portions are delightful.
