White Admiral Butterfly

This butterfly piece is important to me as it signified a step change in my style of embroidery. I had been doing needlepainted animals for a long time but I wasn't enjoying it and I wanted something a bit more 'me'.

My day to day style is quite dark in colour and so I wanted to start showing a reflection of me in my pieces. This piece allowed me to show my favourite colour black with a hint of white sparkle. It was also the first time I'd experimented with paint.
