Wake From Death and Return to Life

This work was created using a hybrid of traditional graphite line, watercolor textures, photographs, and digital drawing. Added textures such as gold leaf were explored using layer modes and photographic textures.

For this particular piece, I wanted to explore aging parallel to the cycle of growth that happens throughout seasons. People age on the outside, but cultivate and grow new spirit as they gain experience in the world.

Below you'll find the original graphite drawing I used for the linework base. I always offer a bit of open area to explore possibilities digitally. I find its important to add guidance with line, but never diminish possibility through too much detail.
