Firewood Mallet

This was my first attempt at a mortise and is a little gappy. But overall very happy with the end result for my first ever tool that i have made. Can't wait to start using the chisels with this new Firewood mallet.

The head is made from a Gum variety from the firewood pile and the handle is a piece of tassie oak I had lying around. I had lots of fun making shavings with my spokeshave and jackplane to smooth the surfaces, chamfering the mallet head corners and smoothing the surfaces.
