Muggie - original character

Hey, Hi, Hello!

In this project you can see - how title is suggests - my original character Muggie.

Story behind her born is quite simple - I totally fall in love with mug.

The Moon face mug was made by In August Company, which is czech company specialise making mostly handmade ceramics dishes and vases. They focus on minimalistic and nature inspired design, with really nice drawings.
If you gonna be someday at Prague, I totally recomended to visit their showroom.

It take me quite long time, since I buy the mug - I was just wishing for the mug. And finaly, because of our kitchen renovation, I decided this piece is something I really need in my new kitchen and what makes room more comfy!
And how you can see, I fall in love with that piece of cermaics so hard, that I needed to make another step and transform it into chatacter, simply draw it.

As a color palette, I use the one from photo I took after unboxing my mug delivery. So i focus mainly in brown, beige and colors between these two.
Because I really like the brown Moon face mug, I decided to make Muggie same skin color. And ceramics base as her main color for dressing. Also, for both color flats - skin and the dress - I use also dark black dots, which is on mug. Inside of the mug there are not, so for hair I also didnt use it.

Next variations and poses of Muggie was inspired by instagram challenge "Dear body", so this determited which poses I'm gonna use.

The last one I did was portrait of Muggie for challenge The Thuesday collective, which is instagram account, which every thuesday makes nwe art challenges.
Theme was Geometric face drawing, so I used Muggie combinated with my next journal visual.

As a next step I made them all together at one sheet and printed it on vinyl paper and made stickers with her.

I'm glad how stickers turned out and it motivates me to make not only more stickers, but also Muggie as a character, very nice and cute.
