“If the doors of perception were cleansed, every thing would appear to man as it is, infinite.” - William Blake
Paolo Pettigiani started in 2015 to explore the themes of seeing the unseen driven by a desire to explore familiar places breaking the doors of perception through a graphic and visual exploration of the territory. Paolo continuously seeks to express his personal subconscious with new mediums and formats and he found his trademark style using infrared digital photography: a fusion of science and creativity in order to question reality as we see it.
Paolo is the creator of Infraland, a serie of surreal landscapes unbound by human perception and space capturing the invisible electromagnetic radiation of the infrared light which wavelengths are reflected by chlorophyll and not visible by the human eye.
His work has been the Splash Screen of Adobe Lightroom Classic 2021 and an inspiration for the Pantone Living Coral (Color of the Year 2019).
His works have been exhibited both in solo and group exhibitions in New York City, Paris, Milan, Berlin and have been featured in a variety of publications, including The Washington Post, Wired, Forbes, La Repubblica, La Stampa, Vanity Fair, Lonely Planet, Huffington Post, Zeit Wissen, Vogue.
