My finished chair!I didn't have boards planed and sized already - but instead had some old yellow pine lying around.I don't have a table saw or a miter saw, so I ripped the planks by hand and used hand planes to make them flat.Because I did it by hand, I made it thicker than the tutorial just in case I needed to resize, this meant my chair is widerInstead of making a needle, I used a metal ruler which seemed to work well.Unfortunately I couldn't find artificial cane so I used natural rattan. It is hard to use!Chiseling out the end turned out better than I expected.Because my clamps were so large, I missed some glue squeeze outs that I had to clean up later. It's important that the legs are flat to each other so you don't end up with crooked legs!I used a thin bit of wood with some tape to create the arc for the back. The final caning - I'm happy with it, but don't look too close to see my mistakes!I painted the back because my plywood wasn't very attractive - happy with the result!
