Introduction to the Project:
As a society, we grow more accustomed to inhumane news each passing day,
becoming almost numb. This time, we wanted to trickle that numbness away from
whom we had the power to reach.
The Spark that Lit the Fire:
On the 3rd of April, following the Islamic Sharia, Brunei enacted strict laws against gay sex and adultery, making those actions punishable by stoning to death.
A practice that just made the news, but that has been in the act for countless years in many other countries.
Countries’ self-determination isn’t the topic here.
The topic is that Basic Human Rights aren’t up for a nation to choose.
A Call to Arms:
Violence is not my Culture is more than a Website.
It’s a call to arms to all our creatives peers to shed light on aberrant actions that shouldn’t be tolerated via a graphic, illustration, animation or other form of art.
We invite all of you to stand for something and fight against what defies your values.
Stones may look untouchable, but wind, in time, turns them to dust.
Be that wind.

Profesor PlusLa violencia no es mi cultura es una declaración de desacuerdo hacia acciones que no deberían esconderse debajo de una alfombra.
