"The same, but different"
I've illustrated some Anthurium flowers following the principles learned in the course: proximity, similarity, unity, and contrast.
My idea of recycling was to use a previously drawn background and add the flowers on top since watercolor even recommends layering.
Anthurium is suited to be drawn for this course because the flowers are modified leaves, so they share the same heart shape, just with a different color. So I thought the Similarity principle can be applied and demonstrated in the watercolor and illustration field.
I've tried to suggest movement by using the orientation of the flowers and leaves, and also by utilizing granulating watercolors.
Colors used: "Sennelier Red" (PR 254), "Nickel Azo Yellow" (PY 150), "Cobalt Green Turquoise" (PB 36), "Serpentine Genuine", and "Cascade Green" (PB 15, PBr 7).
