I am a beginner and I still have a lot to learn. At first I didn't really understand what the teacher was doing, but eventually, I started to think of the portrait kind of like a topographical map, and that helped me to see it differently. I think I need to do the project over again to correct some big mistakes. The way the instructor paints - moving all around the picture instead of doing one area at a time - was very confusing to me, but I know this is a common method and I do need to learn to deal with it. If the instructor could talk while painting, explaining the reasoning behind some of the strokes, that would be very helpful in the future. I really enjoyed the course!
