The Washington Post. By The Way – Mexico City

I was commissioned by The Washington Post to create a lettering piece to represent Mexico City in their new city guide By The Way.
Their idea was to represent each city through a local's perspective, and I chose to work with a style that honors "Día De Muertos", a very unique tradition in Mexico. The lettering piece was designed in a slab serif style, and accompanied with ornaments resembling the ones found in "papel picado", or bunting.
