Buddhika Rodrigo

I, Buddhika Rodrigo; am a lecturer in Media and Communication Design, for the Department of Integrated Design, Faculty of Architecture, University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka since May 2017. Having completed my Honours Degree, i.e. Bachelor of Design (B.Des) Hons., specializing in Media and Communication Design in
2015, after my graduation I joined Eyepax IT consulting (PVT) Ltd., and started working as a UI/UX Designer. In 2016 I was invited by the University of Moratuwa to join as an Instructor because I was the student who obtain the highest overall GPA in Media and Communication Design in 2015.

Through my journey in the Department of Integrated Design, I have learnt that researching User Experience Design and Human-Computer Interaction while studying the subtle movements of human behaviour would greatly help me in my field of design, to understand the pursuance of Human centres Design.

I am following a post-graduate degree for Master of Sociology at the Department of Sociology, University of Colombo.

This is the point when I got interested in multidisciplinary research methodologies. I have been examining the notion of UX design for the last four years. I just want to combine the social science knowledge with the UX design domain that might be applying to the User experience research practices. I believe exploring the Sociological framework to the UX research will enable us to overcome the UX research constraint with diversified ideas. In addition to that, Social science learning outcomes will be helpful to leverage knowledge that belongs to the UX researchers.
