I am a bookbinder and botanical artist. I have always been influenced by Rene Gruau (not Art Deco but undoubtedly influenced by that period) and have used his images cut in leather to illustrate covers of my rebound books. The simple lines of art deco lend themselves to leather work and I want to use your course to help me in develop my own style and designs. I love Edward Johnson's simple typography and many of the posters for the London Underground have also inspired me. Edward Kauffer, for example. I love the muted colours used by Charles Loupot and Cassandre is the ultimate designer. My all-time favourite is the Canadian artist Sybil Andrews.
