Realismo mágico para ilustración infantil

Love this class. It’s exactly what I needed. Very inspiring and informative for whoever loves create visual arts, especially who still believes in magic.

I loved this course and really enjoyed the creation of an illustration showing all the magical creatures in the ocean. I thought Juanita’s teaching style was very encouraging.

I'm trying to find 'a creative device,' for my graphic novel project, that exercises the mind's natural capacity for 'expansion and contraction cycles.' I think magical realism might just be that device, with the magical element enabling expansion and the realistic element then, in its turn, causing a type of a 'closure' - like the pores of the skin when it is too cold to cope ... & then the magical again. This teacher has shown me this 'creative device.' I didn't really know it existed before.

This course by Juanita Londoño Gaviria, is well-organized, well-paced, and well-presented. There are a few valuable takeaways.

¿Es un curso acerca de las influencias de la profesora? Llevo vistas tres clases, dos de las cuales han sido completamente dedicadas a sus influencias. No me parece correcto. Tampoco me parece correcto que si ella es hispanohablante, el curso sea en inglés.

Excellent instruction and tips on how to make beautiful illustrations!

I have a desire to write and illustrate a picture book. I have the writing background but not art classes for the illustration portion. As this is a lifelong dream of mine, I decided to take the plunge and dive into this course- I wrote my Masters on Defamiliarization, which is a writing technique in Magical Realism. I was able to step away from what did not serve me and learn a lot in this course!
