Mi Huerto Web Website Design

Mi Huerto Web is a startup on a mission to change the agriculture world to make it more fair, local and inclusive by creating a platform that serves as an intermediary between producer and buyer.

The biggest communication problem is that people find hard to understand the Mi Huerto Web model for buying fruits and vegetables. As part of the team I was asked to create a website that explain what Mi Huerto Web does in a clear and simple way.

Sitemap

I created a sitemap that can be easily scanned so people can access every page of the website at any time. The main items in the menu were Projects, which is a direct access to the app itself and How Does It Work.

Styles

I based the base styles for the design on a color scheme with multiple shades of brown and a primary color green, to make a reference to the earth and nature. The chosen typography was modern and circular to evoque a sense of modern technology that in contrast with the colors, give a sense of modern agriculture.

Homepage

Had the job of getting people interested in Mi Huerto web. As the main focus of MHW is to connect producers with consumers, I came out with a interesting concept of “Vegetables with history” which in conjuntion with the handmade style custom illustrations, created some interest.

How Does it Work

It’s not easy to explain MHW model, after long thought I arrive at the conclusion that a story is more easy to understand. I created this page telling the stories of a producer and a consumer and how MHW make them come together.

Mi Huerto Web used to have a lot of questions about how the system work and got confused as a simple online store, after MHW started telling the story of Margarita y Héctor, things were easier to explain.
