Ana Martins

I hold a bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences, and a Master’s degree in Communication, Arts, and Culture
both from the University of Minho (Braga, Portugal). During my master’s project, I developed the following dissertation: “Rock in Portugal: Repercussions of the musical genre on Portuguese youth (1960-2014). I also hold a
Ph.D. in Sociology from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Porto with the thesis: “Sex, drugs &
rock’n’roll: A Journey with Stops through Contemporary Portuguese Society (1960-2015)”. Recently, I was a science communication manager at Instituto de Telecomunicações (Aveiro, Portugal) leading the communication,
dissemination, and exploitation activities plan of the Portuguese Quantum Infrastructure project. Currently, I am a
researcher at the Institute of Sociology as a collaborator. My professional interest is in the arts and culture field. My
scientific research research interests are in the field of Social Sciences with an emphasis on Sociology and
Communication. I have been doing my research work having rock music in Portugal as the main object of study
