A reference in Brazilian broadcasting since the 1980s, Marcelo Tas hosts the program “Provocações” and is a commentator for “Jornal da TV Cultura”. Highlights from his acting and directing career include his work as fictional reporter Ernesto Varela and as the professor Tiburcio for the children's series “Rá-Tim-Bum”. He has participated in the creation of different programs for TV Globo, children’s series for Cartoon Network, and has directed the comedy program CQC on TV Bandeirantes for seven years.

He studied at the School of Design Eina in Barcelona. In 1994 he founded Estudi Arola. His projects touch very diverse fields, lighting projects, pieces of furniture, perfume packaging, interior design projects and exhibitions. He combines his professional career with teaching, workshops, artistic experimentation and light research. He has been awarded National Design Award in 2003, Silver Delta Award four times, and Red Dot Award 2018: Best of The Best.
