This is very nice. I love the looseness of your painting, but it still have plenty of details to draw my eye in. Your sense of perspective is nicely handled giving this a real sense of depth. There are a lot of different angles in this piece and you've captured it all incredibly well. I love the textures you've depicted and how you're blending your colors together to retain a real sense of life. Don't be afraid to go a little darker with your shadows, especially under the cafe umbrellas. This could create an even stronger center of focus. Very well done.
@alexhillkurtzart Hi Alex, thanks for viewing and commenting on my project piece, I really appreciate that. I thoroughly enjoyed your course, and has properly spurred my interest in watercolour. After failing miserably with rubbish materials before and thinking it wasn't for me, I invested in a single brush and some good paper, and it's a world of difference.
I've got to try quite hard to keep things loose, even though it's something I aim for, I find myself wanting to add more and more. So watching your work process was insightful. To you point about adding darker shadows, that's helpful, as I find myself worried adding too much dark will somehow spoil it.
Thanks again, I'll be keeping an eye out for any further courses you might do in future.
