Hello Anabel, I will enroll in this course and I need to prepare the fabrics, so I want to know what fabrics I can buy, I am from Chile and here we find very few cotton fabrics, the most common are creas and canvases but I would like to do a project of a skirt or pants in a softer fabric. your help is appreciated. thanks
@morales_alicia_m
Hi! The crea works well, if you can, choose the one that is white instead of the raw one.
If not, a type of poplin, muslin, taffeta or cottone, which are softer are perfect too.
The only thing is that it needs to be 100% cotton.
Hello Anabel, I would like to know how to bite the eucalyptus leaves or another species so that it turns red, I am from Argentina, thank you, when I finish, I will upload my final project
@anabeltorres hello ... thanks for the course !! I loved it ... I'm also from Chile and I have a question, I would like to make a silk scarf to print, but I don't know how to buy it ... how to order it, natural silk? Or if I can buy the skein that I have seen of silk and assemble the handkerchief with some procedure? I would appreciate if someone can help me ... greetings!
Hello Anabel, I have loved this new course. I already saw it all!
Now to work, then I will upload the tasks and the final project.
I hope you continue with this advanced course!
Hi Anabel! I would like to know what the botanical printing technique on polyester is like .... do the sequence of the course, but of course because it is polyester I did not get the expected results ... will there be any material to etch polyester?
@karla_p_serrano Hello, it is natural silk, it is difficult to find a finished garment, I advise you to buy X meter fabric and then machine sew the edges and that's it. L
You can add a fretboard with fringes or other detail at the ends. 😄
Hi!! I want to make my blog about my 100% bamboo garments. I will start with small pieces but I'm afraid that the fabric will shrink or suffer a lot after boiling it for so long 🙈
Hi Anabel,
I did your course yesterday and really enjoyed every aspect of it.
Please clarify what you mean by boiling and steaming the fabric . It would be clearer if you can please tell the temperature centigrade and Fahrenheit appropriate for silk, cotton and wool.
Hello everyone! I am enrolled in this course and it is fascinating.
Anabel, I have a question. I followed the etching and pigment preparation procedures; I tried dyeing with beets and Jamaica and it was a failure :(
When I washed the fabric all the color was gone. Much the same thing happened to me with purple cabbage.
What can I do to get those deep pinks and purples?
Thanks!!!
@ximenaseptien hello Ximena, what I understand is that you should use plant material with dyeing properties, that is, that has some percentage of tannins. What you can do when you do not have plant material with tannins is to use it as a bolqueo if they have a nice shape, with the Rusty Blanket method. This is what I understood in the course @anabeltorres could confirm that for us. In the case of roses, these do have tannins that is why they give them those beautiful purple tones on the shirt.
@anabeltorres can you explain to me how is the dyeing of the garment after textile printing? Are the prints not covered with the new tint? Do you have to bite again? etc. Thanks. I loved the course, since I was collecting plant material and buying the fabrics for testing.

Teacher Plus@falom2110 Yes it works, but it needs to be 100% cotton jersey type jersey or something similar without texture.
