I did this following many of the tips in Alex Hillkurtz's course on "Architectural Sketching with Watercolor and Ink".
To be honest, I was trying to be more diligent and reduce the details, like Alex does in his sketches, but while doing it i ended up going back more to what is my style.
I still basically like the result, by I want to try the same subject again (or maybe a new one, who knows) and pay more attention to let it more in a sketch style.
It is so hard to put the pen down! :-D
I upload the final results and the process.

@kate_dobr thanks Kate! ;-) I'm glad you like it!

Teacher PlusThis is really nicely done. You've got a great sense of perspective to create depth. It can be hard to try sketching in someone else's style. I think you're smart to think about doing another version of the same scene. I will often sketch the same subject more than once, and see how it changes. If you're having trouble knowing when to put your pen down, try setting an alarm! Give yourself a limited amount of time. You can always go back later and add more ink.
Well done!

@alexhillkurtzart Hi Alex! thanks for the comment and the tips! the time limit can be a smart move!
At the moment I did another work trying to keep more a sketch style. And I was using also France as reference (Lyon) :-D
Let me know what you think :-)

Hey this is an awesome piece! The colors drew me right in. May I ask what brand of watercolor are you using? The pigments are beautiful! I am going to adopt your process of creating color charts to really understanding the available colors and their transparency before starting to paint.

@flominton thanks a lot! I use a set of 24 half pans Winsor & Newton Cotman.
I already had it, so I'm just keep using it.
The small chart I did with the color references it turned actually really useful.
It helped me a lot to make the right choice, and I can also better immagine the result after mixing two of them.
So I definetly suggest you to do the same.
Better if you make it on the same kind of paper you are going to use for your paintings.
