Hello! well, I really like the project, elegant and simple. I, like any self-respecting design daughter, I adore patterns, and I adore book covers, so I love the project. However, I am somewhat lame, perhaps the pure and hard abstraction is not my strength. It is elegant, it is decorative, but it tells me little about the content of the book, and well, I am not saying about going back to Daniel Gil, that great giant!
Apart from that I wanted to comment, -because I am new to domestic portfolios go-. And I had thought to ask you why criticism is not made in these pages. Because if there is a place to do them, it is among professional colleagues, right? well, I say constructive criticism, or comments that say more than: How beautiful.
I am the first to do it and I will continue to do it because if you like something why not just say you like it that way? But taking a little time to take a closer look at someone's work should honor that too, right?
What do I know!
A greeting!

Hello coquitonia, first of all thank you for your comments (and others), a constructive criticism never hurts.
The truth is that I did this project a bit for fun. The patterns, how you say very well, we like all designers, so, not having clients in between, I pulled towards what I liked. However, if you look at these patterns they refer either to the title of the book or to the content. I did not think of commenting on it in the same work because I believed that by adding the titles of the books, you could see where the matter was going. Well, you may have noticed and still seem lame in concept but I've had a great time doing them hehe; )
As for what you say about criticizing the projects ... I suppose that's what the works check forum is for, that's where we tell each other without regard. But I see the portfolio more as a tool to look for work and clients and I do not know if it is the best place to comment on the faults that a job may have ...
In any case, you are right with what you say about taking more time to evaluate a job and in a way I think we do it, although we do not always leave it in writing.
Anyway, I don't know either!
Greetings : )

Hehehehe!
Well, what you tell me seems very good. Perhaps, sinning the same, I have not gotten to look beyond the book. Or maybe it's too abstract for me, or maybe it suits me more as an exercise in style. But it makes sense if you tell me that you have done it as a personal project where what you wanted was to enjoy. Anyway I am glad that you have taken criticism well, that more than criticism is a point of view, just as good or bad as any other.
I did not know that there was a page to comment more in depth, I will start to study it. Because I think that when someone sees your work, and when many people see it, they return a lot of valuable information, and more if it is someone in the field of design. Perhaps it is not wrong for a client to see criticism, it can teach him to value your work in another more technical way, or from other points of view. As a client in other fields for example, I like to compare and see evaluations made by people who know the most about the subject. It helps me understand what is being talked about.
The most important thing, I think, is to do things with pleasure, and of course if you have succeeded I am very happy! I also have a good time watching it and making speculations with you!
Good luck and see you through the forums,
Coconut.

Reading the dialogue with coquitonia, I find it very interesting (and grateful) to read deeper comments, I am also new to Domestika, I also agree that in the portfolio it is a bit stick to criticize. I would also like to say that not all designers like patterns, although I think they are a good resource for creating collections. That said, I like the project, I think that each piece enhances the whole, they all look great together.
