What a beautiful cover! Makes you want to read the book! Hopefully one day I learn to illustrate like this ... Congratulations on your work, it was beautiful.
The spectacular illustration and the cover, spine and cons game is incredible.
Now, the one who has chosen the type is likely not to love you very much. ;)
@relajaelcoco hahaha, thank you! And you're absolutely right with the guy, 100% agree, you're not the first to tell me. You don't miss one, because you told me the same thing with another cover I did for an edition of The Jungle Book, where they also screwed up with the guy. I'm not usually very lucky, you see; ^)
The one of the covers in Spain is to study. It is the most controversial piece of an entire publication. Too many egos in it and no one making the right choice. A pity that they spoil your job with choices that go to the most absolute topic when your graphical analysis is visually a bomb.
With a dry stick, leaving enough space around it, your illustration would have gained more and the cover would not have had that nerdy touch that a Zapfino-type calligraphic gives it.
See that they like to complicate themselves too much by curling the curl, when it is not necessary. : D
@relajaelcoco yes that is a pity. For the rest, it is a fairly careful edition, and it was one of the titles with which Siruela released her Alevosía Libros label. It is quite shocking that they did not choose the type better.
For me, the blue sketch is already a work of art. But your subsequent conversion of that line drawing to perfectly harmonized spots of color already leaves me hallucinating pickles. Ole.
